On the morning of August 27, 2020, the Science and Technology Promotion and Development Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized an expert group to conduct on-site acceptance and meeting evaluation of the “Research and Development and Industrial Application of Deep Desulfurization Technology of Gasoline” project developed by Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics（DICP） and industrial demonstrated and operated by Hengyuan Petrochemical. The project leader of DICP, the company's executive deputy general manager Gao Chuancheng, deputy chief engineer Xu Weiqing, and polypropylene workshop director Lu Guangyong attended the review meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Gao introduced the construction background and operation effect of Hengyuan Petrochemical’s 400,000 tons/year deep desulfurization unit to the expert group. Then Director Li Ming of DICP introduced the achievements and basic information of adsorption desulfurization  by combined with local industrial economy in Shandong Province.  And then Liu Tiefeng gave a final report on the project source, project overview, technology research and development background, catalytic adsorbent (II generation) research and development, selected hydrodesulfurization catalyst research and development, funding status, project goal completion status, work assumptions, etc. .

Through full discussion and appraisal, the expert group highly praised the demonstration achievements of the project, fully affirmed the achievements of the project in the construction of the theoretical system of gasoline deep desulfurization, technical system research and development, and demonstration and promotion. At last they gave the constructive suggestions for the promotion of gasoline deep desulfurization in Shandong Province and even the whole country.
