1. Wastewater Treatment:
Over the years, the company has been increasing investment into waste treatment facilities every year while ensuring each set of waste treatment facility completed is put into effective operation. The sewage treatment workshop of Hengyuan Petrochemical was constructed in 1988 and expanded in 2001 and 2004 to the current sewage treatment capacity of 300 m³/h. In order to ensure stable, up-to-standard discharge, the company initiated a sewage treatment re-upgrading project, optimized the existing process flow, renovated and added some sewage treatment facilities in August 2007. As the company’s scale enlarged continuously and relevant national standards improved, the company invested 34.46 million Yuan in 2010 to increase the sewage treatment capacity to 400 m3/h and construct the water reclamation plant of 200 m3/h capacity. The plant comprises four independent units, including three-step water purification system, disc filtration system, ultrafiltration system and reverse osmosis system, is fully automated and produces colorless, odorless and bacteria-free water at a desalination rate higher than 95%. The indexes of water produced are similar to those of the company’s soft water system which is highly sophisticated in China in terms of processing extent and processing quality. This plant can effectively conserve underground water, reduce emission of pollutants and be put into service for all production systems. In the aspect of water conservation, the company also reuses stripped and purified sour water and steam condensate for production in place of fresh water, which creates greater environmental and social benefits while creating greater economic benefits for the company.
2. Waste Gas Treatment:
Air pollution prevention and control is an important link to improve environmental quality. The company adheres to the principles of reducing the amount of air pollutants from the source and reducing end-of-pipe emission. For new projects and expansion projects, the company implements the system of environmental impact assessment and “’three simultaneities”, fully reviews the projects to be constructed, conducts scientific argumentation and prevents projects tending to cause serious pollution from being launched.
(1) Improve flare gas recycling system and achieve dual effects of energy conservation and emission reduction.
(2) Maintain stable operation of catalytic cracking flue gas desulfurization and denitration equipment and effectively reduce pollutant emission.
(3) LDAR monitoring:The Company has carried out quarterly and semi-annual LDAR monitoring for dynamic and static sealing points of materials respectively in the whole production process in strict accordance with the requirements of GB31570, and has taken effective measures to repair the leakage points within a certain period, so as to control the material leakage losses and reduce environmental pollution.
Hazardous Wastes:
According to the hazardous waste pollution prevention and control law, if the solid wastes generated by production enterprises are judged as hazardous wastes, the Company will strictly follow the hazardous waste disposal procedures to implement qualification examination of the disposal unit, application for transfer of hazardous waste, approval by environmental protection department and transfer according to the transfer manifest (five-sheet) one by one.
